Foods include a wide variety of fresh, ripe, raw tropical fruits, veggies, nuts, and seeds. Fruit is self-serve all day long. We serve juices in the morning and sometimes throughout the day. Our extensive salad bar will always be available for lunch and dinner, and some nights we will serve gourmet raw dinner meals.
The AFF Local is held during the peak season of fruits in this part of the Amazon, and will focus on rare Amazon fruits that even the seasoned tropical fruit traveler may have never tried before, and also some local non-native fruits as available (such as marang and jackfruit.)
Some Amazon fruits and other locally grown fruits you may expect are: Rollinia, abiu, iniáku, Amazon tree grape, South American sapote, tagua, aguaje, local avocados, papayas, badea, babaco, copal, several varieties of ice cream bean, lulo, mamey sapote, jackfruit, marang, rambutan, peanut butter fruit, local citrus, pineapples, many varieties of banana, and more.
We will have unlimited sugarcane juice and coconut water.
The salad bar will include greens grown at Terra Frutis, local cut/prepared fresh lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, celery, carrots, herbs, spices, both low-fat and high-fat sauces and dressings, nuts, seeds, and more. We try to keep himalayan salt to an absolute minimum (usually only added to sauerkraut and other fermented things that need it, though we do offer it on request). Almost everything is free of onion and garlic though we do offer plenty of spicy and savory dishes to satisfy everyone’s taste buds.
We will be serving 100% raw vegan/fruitarian fare. No cooked foods or animal products will be served.
Drinking water comes from our pristine mountain spring. It is gravity-fed to our community center, where we filter it using an all-natural ceramic drip filter. This filter is rated to 1 micron absolute. You can be sure our water is 100% safe to drink! Also, the filter’s collection basin is ceramic, so the water tastes clean and pure.
